The meeting, which brings together students from 4 of the ESO and 1 BA, has been organized by the delegation of Education of the Diocese of Cartagena, and has included an urban gymkhana called "Fourteen stations and a hope."
The test has provided a tour of the churches of San Diego, San Cristobal, Santiago, Santo Domingo, San Francisco, Sanctuary of the Virgin Patron de las Huertas, El Carmen and San Patricio Collegiate and visits to several schools and monuments such as San Antonio's porch and the district of La Viña.
Their goal is for students to experience first hand the effects of earthquakes on the day to day Lorca, and the serious damage suffered by the city.
The Mayor greeted the students, stating that "Lorca today I will speak and will teach you the secrets that meets in every square, every street and every corner.'ll Share with you the spectacular monuments, the secrets that the long centuries of history have given to this ancient land. But Lorca also going to tell you something else, far away from the beauty of their heritage. I will tell the story of a Wednesday May 11 changed everything , two earthquakes that threatened to destroy everything that was Lorca. Today, at street level on this visit, will you be able to see for yourselves the state of a city that tragedy wants to get up and go back to what it was. You will see a city that despite everything has not been paid, a city still struggling to heal their wounds and re-filled with joy. But for that to be possible, we need your help, support and drive of many people you trust and believe in Lorca. Today, all Catholic students in the Region of Murcia we accompanied them, teachers, teaching the delegation of the Diocese of Cartagena, we ask that you share with us the hope we want to bring from this visit and from the color green clothe. "
The mayor has called for young people to complete "streets and sights of joy, desire to continue fighting, in Lorca reason to believe and to be lifted. We ask that you enjoy sharing our heritage and you suffer as we do us with those monuments that have suffered so much damage. But above all, we ask that when you return home to share with friends and neighbors the state that is unfortunately our city. So that more people can know what is going Lorca and help the city recover from all that is everyone. "
