The more than 1,000 European mayors and Commissioner of the Regions welcomed the video with the proposed rehabilitation and sustainable criteria for participation.
Lorca's mayor, Francisco Jodar, along with the mayors of Mostar, Ljubo Beslic, and L'Aquila, Massimo Cialente, filed yesterday in Brussels the project of recovery of these three cities with sustainability criteria and participation, which will compete European funding of the program 'Smart Cities'.
Exposure of the initiative, which is presented for the first time for three locations in three different countries of the European Union, a video was screened at the conclusion of the third annual meeting of the Covenant of Mayors for Sustainability by starting the applause of more than 1,000 European mayors and Commissioner of the Regions.
This program of rehabilitation of these two cities destroyed by earthquakes and war-torn, includes a commitment to their overall development, including clean energy and sustainable mobility improvements, among other improvements.
