The aid approved by the Bureau for Development reached 1.8 million euros (02/12/2011)

Communication Spokesperson of the City of Lorca, Maria del Carmen Ruiz, has been reported that the city council has approved this morning by the Local Government Board, a new package of aid for earthquake victims Lorca last 11 May.

Ruiz stated that it is a battery of 32 grants spread between 17-repayable advances, accounting for 26,020 euros and 15 assists to meet basic needs.

The latter are aimed at families who have lost their housing because of the earthquake last May 11.

In today's Governing Board has approved to allocate a total of 16,800 euros in this regard.

This amount includes a total of 15 grants to as many families, the amount ranges between 800 euros and 1,500 euros, a distribution based on the number of family members.

So far, the number of families affected by earthquakes Lorca which has received aid for basic needs amount to 664, which means that the aid has reached 1982 Lorca.

Jódar Ruiz explained that the Board of Governors also approved a new set of character extensions refundable aid for access to a rented house.

In this sense 5 applications have been approved involving a final amount of 9,200 euros.

Communication Spokeswoman recalled that the City has made it easier for concerned citizens to access these grants, since it has been expanded from 1,300 to ā‚¬ 1,600 income threshold for access to aid, a concept for which is already benefiting victims .

Municipal aid, in detail

Communication Spokesperson has made balance of the aid approved to date by the City, based on criteria approved unanimously by the various meetings of the Bureau for Development.

In this regard it is noteworthy that even today the official figures are as follows:

Aid to basic needs:

664 approved applications.

1982 beneficiaries.

Total: 738,200 euros.

Grants for repayable advances for rent and extension thereof:

338 applications approved.

Total amount: ā‚¬ 446,156.79.

Attention to serious injuries and families who had died from earthquakes:

ā‚¬ 45,140.62
