The Governing Council approved the text of the Protocol with the announcement of a contest of ideas for the comprehensive redevelopment and reconstruction Lorca neighborhoods of La Viña, San Fernando, Santa Clara and Alfonso X with proposals based on traditional or modular homes, spaces commercial and social spaces.

Intervene in the Protocol the Ministry of Public Works and Planning, the City of Lorca, the Superior Council of Colleges of Architects of Spain and the Official College of Architects of the Region of Murcia.

It is intended that a design competition called by the Superior Council of Colleges of Architects of Spain.

This will provide the City of Lorca architectural and technical solutions for administrations to have the best information possible to adopt the resolutions and actions aimed at the recovery of areas affected by the earthquake last May 11.

The Superior Council of Colleges of Architects of Spain shall be responsible to call and resolve the contest, and to develop their bases and technical documentation, to publicize and to elect people who will sit on the jury.

In this sense, the agency assumes, also, expenses incurred in this process.

For its part, the Ministry of Public Works and Planning, along with the city of Lorca and the Official College of Architects of Murcia will work with the Superior Council of Colleges of Architects of Spain providing technical advice and documentation as necessary.

The contest awards will specify, in accordance with a set of criteria.

There will also be starting a solidarity fund of 8,000 euros, provided by the Foundation for Ars Civilis and the first prizes.

For its part, the City of Lorca is committed to organizing an exhibition with a maximum of ten selected papers in each of the performances, which will become part of a job that will be available to communities upon request .

Also be convened to residents affected by the proposals submitted for discussion.

The Official College of Architects of Murcia will collaborate in the task of spreading the contest, and their results, and will be part of the jury.
