The National Police Trade Union, through Jose Luis Fuentes, has moved to the town to show their support for Lorca to the tragic situation generated by the earthquake last May 11.
The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, along with Councilman Hall Public Safety, Maria Belen Perez have received this morning in the city council representative of the Professional Union of National Police, Jose Luis Fuentes Gago, who has delivered a financial support of this group which will be used to channel funds and manages the Bureau for Development.
Specifically, this Union has delivered just over 5,000 euros from the direct contributions made by its associate members in Spain, that with this gesture want to contribute to help the city of Lorca in his most difficult moments.
The mayor pointed out that this grant was scheduled to be delivered to the four members of the Union Lorca, so that their colleagues could help them move forward in these very complicated.
It was therefore a great gesture of solidarity among colleagues.
But this solidarity has gone a step further.
And Lorca is that members considered that there are other people more than they need this financial assistance.
They therefore decided that the money that they want to give their peers outside the Bureau for Development and assist those affected and most in need.
The Mayor thanked "the solidarity of the Professional Union of National Police and its affiliates Lorca, this grant funds will become part of the Bureau for Development getting more people to undo some of what the May 11 earthquake robbed. As I say it is a grand gesture of solidarity by which, as Mayor of Lorca, I want to thank both the National Police Union, as all members who have contributed and, of course, the four members who wanted to Lorca this money be shared by more pressing causes, thus giving to their rightful and fully allocate the donation to the Bureau for Development ".
The mayor said "this important help comes from one of the bodies has contributed to Lorca since 11 May. And is that the National Police officers were instrumental in helping the city in the early hours and the first days after the disaster. Both members of the National Police of Lorca as those coming from other units from other parts of the Region of Murcia and other autonomous communities fussed over and help Lorca Lorca, being an example of courage, professionalism and dedication at work. Therefore, once again, I want to publicly acknowledge the tremendous help of this body that now, through their trade unions, once again shows that they are with Lorca and not going to leave us alone. "
