More than 3070 Lorca have benefited so far from the aid provided by the Bureau for Development (16/12/2011)

This morning has passed a new series of repayable assistance for rent and for basic needs.

The total amount spent so far reached the figure of 1,836,697.41 euros.

Communication Spokesperson of the City of Lorca, Maria del Carmen Ruiz, reported that the city council endorsed this morning by the Board of Local Government, a new package of aid for earthquake victims Lorca last 11 May.

Ruiz stated that it is a battery of 15 grants spread over 6 repayable advances, accounting for 10,600 euros, plus 9 support for basic needs.

The latter are aimed at families who have lost their housing because of the earthquake last May 11.

The Governing Board has approved today will allocate a total of 9,200 euros in this regard.

This amount provides aid to 9 families, whose numbers range from 800 to 1,500 euros, a distribution based on the number of family members.

So far, the number of families affected by earthquakes Lorca which has received aid for basic needs amount to 675, which means that the aid has gone to 2,011 Lorca.

Communication Spokeswoman recalled that the City has made it easier for concerned citizens to access these grants, since it has been expanded from 1,300 to ā‚¬ 1,600 income threshold to access aid.

Communication Spokesperson has made balance of the aid approved to date by the City, based on criteria approved unanimously by the various meetings of the Bureau for Development.

In this regard it is noteworthy that even today the official figures are as follows:

Aid to basic needs:

675 approved applications.

2011 beneficiaries.

Total: 749,200 euros.

Grants for repayable advances for rent and extension thereof:

353 applications approved.

Total amount: ā‚¬ 472,356.79.
