Remembering that day is to relive the moments of maximum terror, uncertainty, not knowing what was happening, or why.
You remember the sad news, the damage, the flight and, above all, the farewell of the 9 people that we were that day and we can never forget.
But it also chronicles the work done by law enforcement and emergencies that were revealed in our city, not knowing schedules or conditions, of Lorca's hands reached toward from so many points, of television that began its news talking about our catastrophe, by giving full solidarity of emergency personnel, officers, architects, engineers, volunteers, who marched through the streets doing the unspeakable to help Lorca in this situation.
From then until now, many things have happened in our city!
So many broken dreams in the form of demolition.
So many plans broken by misery.
In the seven month history of Lorca has been to a city's struggle to survive.
But during these difficult times we are also partakers of the best virtues of Lorca and Lorca and those who have wanted to be with us in difficult times.
We have seen a dunk town in its recovery.
We have seen the renouncement by Lorca neighbors, reaching out to as many people in need, allowing no Lorca, none, were alone in the difficulty.
And as brothers but as neighbors we put our effort where it has been necessary.
In difficult times we have believed in this city of Lorca, and each of its citizens have done what has been our best for our neighbors.
We managed to take small steps that lead to recovery.
And we had the undeniable solidarity of individuals, organizations, groups and businesses that have wanted to help generously to Lorca again be what we all want, and with whom we have acquired a debt of gratitude that can never satisfy.
But it's been over 7 months from the time of the tragedy and we are at a pivotal moment in the history of our city.
The Lorca today we are the protagonists of these moments, these dates will always be remembered by the collective memory.
But now, unlike what happened during the May 11, it's up to us to choose the role we assume.
Now we are the masters of our fate decisions are made by us.
Therefore, in this official act, when we discovered this plaque in honor, I will want to ask: do we want to be remembered as the generation that suffered the May 11 earthquake?
Do we want that future to talk about us as neighbors who were devastated by nature?
Do we want to be reminded how those who were defeated by the disaster?
Or maybe instead we want to be who rose from the tragedy?, Who believed in Lorca and returned to rebuild?
Who woke up the pain and made it possible for Lorca returned to the sun?
Now the decision is before us and we have to choose which path we will go over the next months and years ahead.
I listen, Lorca and Lorca.
Tell me what to do: go down the arms, give up, say goodbye to all that we know so far?
Or fight for our city, so we deserve, and rebuild Lorca?
I have a clear what we have to do.
I've always been convinced that we deserve Lorca, inhabit its streets, fill in its history.
It is a legacy we have received from our parents and grandparents and we have decided to keep.
But this is the time to show who really deserve it, we're willing to lift this ancient city, and with it we also rise.
We each have to make a show of our commitment to more solid, stronger and more heroic.
In a situation like the one we live, a leader has two options.
Located in front of his people and be the wall to which it is necessary to oppose, or be in front, ahead of its neighbors, leading the desire to be extended, a city that needs to move toward recovery.
And from the Municipal Corporation, even despite our different ideologies and political beliefs, we are willing to give everything for the recovery of Lorca.
Because you never give back or to the problems that plague our city, let alone the neighbors.
We promise that we will leave the skin by Lorca, that we will not rest a minute, not one, until this city back to what it deserves, that today our only priority is Lorca and are willing to give everything in this city we want because it is ours and yours.
From the Municipal Corporation we will continue calling all doors to all, who is behind you, be it political color, as we always have, to claim and Lorca get what you deserve.
As I say there are a corporation and a mayor willing to give everything for Lorca.
But nothing will get without Lorca.
Today we are a wounded people, it is true, but neither we nor the people we will never be defeated.
We need to give pride Lorca's face it matters most, grit your teeth, and move forward.
But for this we need to start from a unanimous and unequivocal collective spirit.
So hard these months has taught us anything, the most important of all, we have shown that together we are much stronger.
The separate Lorca are a small trickle that barely wet, but together we are a torrent of rain that no one can contain or be silent.
Some might try to separate under the maxim "divide and conquer", but do not have to allow it, because there goes the future of Lorca and all its citizens.
It is time to reconcile the individual with an idea Lorca common project, adding wills for the same purpose, for a single purpose, for this city of Lorca.
