IBERDROLA has invested two million euros in the reform and reconstruction of their electrical installations affected by the earthquake and has completed the overhaul of the 80% of the 113 transformer stations that were affected by the earthquake in addition to over 400 Low voltage performance
IBERDROLA, through its distribution subsidiary, will donate to the city of Lorca material to replace the municipal electricity infrastructure amounting to 200,000 euros, and will be allocated to the necessary reconstruction of the town after the earthquake of last 11 May.
This contribution is part of the collaboration agreement signed this morning between the Director of Distribution of the eastern part of IBERDROLA, Francisco Raga, and the mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, during a ceremony at the town hall and also has attended the institutional representative companies in the region of Murcia, Patricio Valverde.
Jodar explained that "it is well known that the May 11 earthquake damage as well as public and private buildings also caused damage to municipal infrastructure such as electrical services, for this reason we welcome the collaboration of Iberdrola Distribution, which will facilitate the way back to normal Lorca ".
"Right now, as a result of earthquakes, the city is having higher spending and lower revenues from the usual concepts and between the additional requirements to be covered is the arrangement of some electrical lines and urban neighborhoods, replacement of street lighting especially in areas where buildings have been demolished, ..., so this type of input contribute to improving the quality of life of Lorca, "added the mayor, who has appreciated the role played in this agreement Patricio Valverde.
Iberdrola Jódar thanked his collaboration in the recovery of the city for damages after the May 11 earthquake materialized with this donation of equipment for the recovery and repair of electrical lines and installations damaged by the disaster.
The material will be delivered over the next two years as it will demand the Consistory.
Francisco Raga has informed the municipal chief that the Company has already spent another 2 million to reform and rebuild their electrical installations affected by the earthquake, mainly processing centers.
In this sense, IBERDROLA has completed the overhaul of the 80% of the 113 schools that were affected by that earthquake and has conducted over 400 performances at low voltage.
It should be noted that the Company is carrying out all tasks of replacing the city's energy infrastructure without significant interruptions in the service it provides to its customers.
IBERDROLA has guaranteed 100% power at all voltages transformation (high / medium / low) of the municipality of Lorca from the day of the earthquake, which was made possible through appropriate conservation work and maintenance of infrastructure developed and significant network investments made in the area in the last decade.
In this frame the construction of the new substation Lorca (Equestrian) and 132 kV line Tercia Totana-Sierra and the associated network development at all levels of tension in the area, which have been key provide an adequate response to the earthquake in the town from the start.
