January 16, 2012.
Councillor of Education of the City of Lorca, Francisco Montiel, has announced that the book clubs organized by the Municipal Library this year resumed in 2012 with four new titles.
Montiel has stated that "this is an initiative to promote reading. These clubs are formed by a group of people who read the same book over a period of time. Each individual does so intimate, at home, and after reading, periodically, on a day and hour, the group meets to discuss what was read, with a librarian who coordinates the activity. "
The mayor stressed that "the term is now open to participating in any organized book clubs. One of its main attractions is that the clubs meet at different times, both morning and afternoon, so that any interested can participate. In addition, books are provided by the Library, so participating in this activity does not involve any cost. "
Montiel said that "for the first half of 2012, book clubs will be four, engaged in various literary works in which we find both classical and topical novels."
Specifically, from January will be two works to be discussed by the club read: "The Heretic" whose gatherings will be in the afternoon and will start on 24 January, and "Paradise Travel" by Jorge Franco, in the morning since 25 January.
The talk of both clubs will be held in the Fund Espin.
Already in June, will be held book clubs for works "Madame Bovary" by Gustave Flaubert and "sleepy voice," Dulce Chacón.
