Councilman Services of the City of Lorca, Angel Mecca, has reported that the Consistory Lorca will join Saturday March 31 from 20:30 to 21:30 hours, the energy saving initiative sponsored by WWF under the name ' Earth Hour '.
Lorca said Mecca will join with the shutdown of the Castle, Garden Ruano, City Council districts and some lighting in this act to be held in 6,000 cities around the world and pretend to invite citizens to commit to small actions to be a way of life sustainable.
Earth Hour 2012 will be the largest call to action ever organized and will serve to show that, acting together, we are all part of the solution to climate change.
The WWF's Earth Hour aims to involve more than one billion people to show global support for action against climate change by turning off lights of its main buildings and monuments.
Angel Mecca recalled that our municipality has adopted since 2007 energy saving measures, which will continue throughout 2012 and subsequent years, a clear commitment to economic and environmental sustainability.
In addition, the mayor has invited its citizens to commit to small actions to bring a more sustainable lifestyle.
