The Minister Antonio Sevilla, along with representatives of the municipal corporation, presided last week in Lorca a workshop to further develop the comprehensive project for the recovery of this city, recommended by the Council of Europe.
In order to develop this program, has created a group of experts or 'Task Force', coordinated by the MEP and vice president of the Foundation Ars Civilis, Cristina Gutiérrez-Cortines, and chaired by Professor Luis Fernandez-Galiano.
Also part of this group, the Administrative Law professor Tomas Ramon Fernandez, Professor of Geography Troitiño Michelangelo, Professor of Urban Josep Parcerisa, economist Fernando Encinar, Jose Miguel Iribas sociologist, Professor of Urban Planning and the expert Joan Busquets Town Centre Management and Trade Augustine Rovira.
Antonio Sevilla stated that due to the many initiatives being developed in Lorca, you must have a program framework to ensure consistency in decision-making.
This framework will define priorities and consolidate the main lines of action, such as housing, reforestation and restoration of historic and boosting trade.
The Minister of Public Works and Planning announced that the next meeting of the Task Force, expected to conclude in the near future, will present a comprehensive proposal to rebuild the city.
