The Councillor for Culture and Celebrations of the City of Lorca, Sandra Martinez, has been reported that the Municipal will perform works of structural reinforcement and rehabilitation facilities in the Cultural Center of the City and the Municipal Archaeological Museum, which were affected by earthquakes last year.
Martinez explained that this is, namely, the work for the structural reinforcement of the building of the Archaeological Museum as well as rehabilitation works part of the Cultural Center of the City.
The mayor of Culture explained that the municipal officers were able to observe the structural damage in some municipal buildings as a result of earthquakes, including the Archaeological Museum.
Work on the Museum will consist essentially in the arrangement of the pillars and is expected to continue for a month.
In this sense, the last meeting of the Local Government Board has approved the execution of work and their relevant health and safety plan, for an aggregate amounting to EUR 25,877.40.
It is recalled that by the municipal councils have been made until several reparation proceedings of the House of Salazar, building that houses the museum, and have mostly corresponded with the correction of cracks, repainting old integral area of ​​the building , arrangement of pillars, replacement of several areas of flooring, fix partitions, jobs in carpentry and tile replacement.
Regarding the Cultural Center, the tasks are to carry out corresponding to the settlement of the damages that were pending to repair, such as the facade of the building, strengthening of minor damage to piers and crack sealing.
These tasks are added to those already made in the same building and focusing on the recovery of false ceilings and partition repair, ie the basic work for the Cultural Center would continue to serve the citizens.
These tasks, which were implemented during the months of December 2011 and January 2012 by Lorca unemployed hired by the City Council through the Special Plan for Employment, beheld also various in toilet repairs, tiling, replacement of casts in areas and correction of cracks.
As a current more substantial works are expected to continue for 6 months, assuming an investment of EUR 113,506.47.
The Governing Board, in fact, the record has already started to award these works.
Once completed this work, we will proceed to complete repainting of the Cultural Center and the relocation of double plaster ceilings in certain areas.
