The program highlights the figure of our ancestors, grandparents and their influence on children.
In this activity the story and narration are used as a communication tool between different generations.
The Edil Major noted that one of the major objectives it set the Department since its establishment in 2007 was to change the vision remained until the group of older people, who only watched them as passive objects of the action social.
From that moment decisively opted for working with older people to channel their concerns in an active, since we own elders indicated that they had much to offer and were willing to actively cooperate with the municipality.
The active role of the major initiatives as demonstrated in the Grandparents' Storytelling, which also allows the establishment and consolidation of relations between adults and children, building new social communication scenarios.
The objectives of this program are to foster intergenerational relationships, encourage social participation and volunteering through specific actions and contribute to the maintenance of memory using creativity, language, visualization, story, the dramatization of the same ... This project aims to establish an alternative for seniors to use their time positively and improving self esteem.
