Councillor for Environment explained that the initiative has the backing of the Regional Government, seeks to determine the causes which are exceeded.
Councilman Environment of the City of Lorca, Melchor Morales, has reported that, by agreement of the Local Government Board, the Consistory Lorca has sent a letter to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment urging him to create a working group or ozone research on Spanish municipalities that higher levels of ozone present.
"The goal of this initiative is to identify the causes that make them pass and continued long-term ozone values ​​in our town, so that these experiences may affect the rest of Spanish municipalities affected by the same problem" , explained Morales.
The mayor has stated that this request, which assumes that the ozone problem can only be addressed through joint efforts between the different administrations, has the backing of the Regional Government.
In fact, since the autonomous region has been raised to create a list, consisting in those cities that present a greater number of defaults, prioritizing actions to combat ozone on them.
This proposal was raised by the representatives of the Region of Murcia on 8 May in the Working Group of the Environment Sector Conference on Air Quality, constituted by the Central Government and autonomous regions in the field of Review of the National Plan to Improve Air Quality, emphasizing the special problems of the municipality of Lorca.
The Hall has likewise requested the Central Government to incorporate the resolutions adopted by the Working Group of the Sectoral Conference on the Environment, Air Quality, CIRCA digital web where available information is submitted after the meeting.
