The Councillor for Culture and Celebrations of the City of Lorca, Sandra Martinez, has reported on the rehabilitation works that have begun to run at the Cultural Center of the city.
Thanks to these works "shall remedy any defect caused by earthquakes that still had the infrastructure, while progress is being made to significantly improve the accessibility and convenience substantial center for all users," remarked Martinez.
The mayor recalled that "during last winter and through the Special Employment Plan implemented a basic intervened to bring the building available to users. Martinez stressed that "the work began on August 1 and will last until year end. During this time, proceed to plug cracks, fixing pillars and installing new ceilings. Also integrally fix the façade and the finish will be held interior, including full repainting units. "

During the construction period, the services of the Department of Culture and Celebration will be transferred to the Municipal Archives of the city, located on Calle Selgas.
The Department of Citizenship seated on the ground floor of the Cultural Center will move to the municipal offices located at Calle Santiago, where they coexist with the offices of the Department of Information Society.
Pilar Barnes Library and the libraries of districts are responsible for supplying the services of the study room in the basement of the Cultural Center.
Martinez stressed that "this temporary relocation of the various services that the departments continue to get available to users without involving municipal coffers for spending a little vacation."
