The Minister for Universities and Research Company, José Ballesta, attended today's meeting of the Domestic Trade Sector Conference, in which the central government and the autonomous communities decided to devote half of recorded trade aid for Spain to rehabilitation and revitalization of trade in Lorca.
The first item on the agenda of the meeting, which was attended by all regional managers with expertise in trade of Spain, was the extension of the 2012 budget of the Plan to Improve Productivity and Competitiveness of Commerce to transfer to the City of Lorca, for aid for trade affected by the earthquake of May 11, 2011.
The Minister stressed that the proposal of the Central Government, "all communities have unanimously decided to allocate to the city of Lorca half of the amounts allocated to trade in Spain, ie the regions of generosity and solidarity have decided to give up half of what they are entitled to be earmarked for Lorca ".
He recalled that a total of 1.15 million euros will be allocated, a figure that adds up to 1.5 billion euros already approved the Domestic Trade Sector Conference.
"Last year, state government gave 25 percent of their fair share and this time spend half" insisted Crossbow.
This is support for the completion of construction, expansion or modernization of commercial facilities for the repair of damage or deterioration caused by these establishments as a result of the May 11 earthquake, as well as to improve commercial centers open, the pedestrianization of shopping areas or the adequacy of spaces for sale.
Crossbow stated that "with these amounts will continue rehabilitating and rebuilding the businesses affected by the earthquakes in May 2011, but will also make major revitalization work, so that they will renew the entire downtown business planning Lorca's historical, markets will be built as the Vine and San Clemente and go recover fairs and commercial events and encourage other existing and Crafts Fair ".
"The main goal right now is to recover sooner Lorca normal and remains that space commerce, services, leisure, culture and tourism has always been," he Ballesta, who said that the recovery of activity in stores contributes directly to improving the local economy and to maintain and create jobs.
Also, the Minister explained that the amounts will be immediately transferred to the City of Lorca, which has formed a working group which includes representatives from the Chamber of Commerce, businessmen and traders, to distribute aid.
In another vein, the Conference discussed the Market Unit Act, which aims to establish a single license for any product or service made under any regional rules can be offered freely anywhere in the Spanish territory.
Similarly, we also analyzed the draft Basic Law of Chambers of Commerce, which arises from the need to rationalize the structures and functioning of the Spanish chambers.
