The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar has moved this afternoon to the church of San Cristóbal (Step Incarnate religious headquarters, the Brotherhood is Honorary Chairman) with technical specialists from the Department of Planning to discuss the state presents the temple due to the release of the roof of one of its chapels (corresponding to San Antonio).
The mayor, who was accompanied by the President of the Incarnate Paso, Fulgencio Soler, and the pastor of the church, Regulo Cayuela, has agreed that, given the impossibility of initiating emergency work right now because of the weather, to first thing Monday morning begin emergency work to check and repair the damage.
The Mayor is anticipated that the works that start tomorrow will not cease until the church is restored in its entirety, with the objective that the temple is restored for Easter 2013.
The start of these works, necessary for the damage that caused the earthquake last year and whose funding was committed to taking the Valencian in the amount of 357,000 euros, was scheduled for this month and therefore anticipates execution.
The Mayor will attend early morning to the temple to monitor the initiation of emergency work in the temple.
