The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, this morning delivered the keys of the new building intended for use by the group of people over the neighborhoods of San Cristóbal and San Diego.

Remember that as a result of the earthquake of May 11, 2011, the former Civic Center Barrio had to be demolished.

Immediately the biggest of San Cristóbal and San Diego resumed their activities in the open center of the Mayor.

The mayor has stated that "the City Council were fully aware that the greatest need their own space to develop its activities and carry out the important role they play in the citizen participation in our town. Therefore decided to put this place located in Turbinto Street that has to be in charge of a space to channel the needs of the largest of these neighborhoods and that it is an ideal facility for these purposes. "

Through Project "You and Your Neighborhood" which has been developing since January 2012, has worked to put this gathering, training and participation.

Remember that the "You and Your Neighborhood" is funded by the City Council and the European Union through FEDER funds by 20 and 80% respectively.

In the works of this local shop has intervened masonry of this project, comprising six student-workers and monitor.

The investment made to adapt the premises amounted to the amount of 28,000 euros.

There have been the following works:

sanitation, including forgings perforated drainage tube placement and sanitation and wrought plaster finishes;

the stretch of sand for flooring and board placement;

has made the bar counter with brick and trained;

has been made of cloisonné downspouts and creating a false pillar in the front door;

were placed 500 m2 and 60 m2 of plasterboard tile inside the bar and toilets.

Through these actions, the largest of San Cristóbal and San Diego have today with a local 180 square meters which features entertainment area, canteen, office, warehouse and 2 bathrooms.

The largest groups of its own infrastructure needed by the City Council and demonstrate once again that we provide answers to the needs of the residents.
