Representatives of the different public administrations involved in the recovery of cultural heritage and urban regeneration of Lorca after the earthquake that devastated the town of Murcia, today held at the Institute of Cultural Heritage of Spain (IPCE) in Madrid the ninth session of the Commission Monitoring Plan.
This meeting aimed to update the Master Plan that coordinates efforts for the recovery of assets, as well as its extension to the construction of environmental and public spaces of the Historic.
As part of this meeting discussed the form of financing of privately owned properties included in the Master Plan and helps to that end will manage the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia.
The meeting was chaired by the Commissioner of the Government, Inmaculada García, and has been attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, the Ministry of Development of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, the City of Lorca and the Diocese of Cartagena.
Excellent level of compliance
The Monitoring Committee has analyzed the degree of compliance with the Master Plan and found to be very satisfactory, since the actions are completed in the tower of the Spur, the church of San Mateo, parts of the Archaeological Museum and the San Antonio Porch , while further developing interventions in the collegiate church of Saint Patrick in the Guevara palace, War in the theater, in the church of Santiago and in the Carmelite church, among others.
Moreover, projects are also being drafted to serve in churches uptown in the castle walls and a second performance in the monastery of the Virgin de las Huertas, once the structure has been consolidated and repaired the tower with emergency works.
Altogether lies committed an investment of forty million euros, which represents over 75% of the total planned investment.
The Recovery Plan for Cultural Heritage of Lorca is part of the strategy of urban rehabilitation and restoration of heritage city pursued through comprehensive rehabilitation and revitalization of its historic center, adequately preserve their heritage, promote tourism cultural and improve the living conditions of its inhabitants.
