The book and DVD are presented this afternoon after a micromecenazgo process, which also has raised 200 euros for the Bureau for Development lorquino Consistory.
The Councillor for Culture of the City of Lorca, Sandra Martinez, this morning the new work of cartoonist aquiline Pedro Hurtado, book and video 'Lorca Illustrated History', which was published with the cooperation of the Consistory Lorca Foundation Cajamurcia and 56 co-financiers, who participated via a search program crowdfunding micromecenazgo or over the Internet.
The new publication, which were made 1,000 copies of the book and 1,000 DVDs, will be presented today at 20:00 pm in the Cultural Hall Cajamurcia, which will release an edition of a cheaper format.
As early as next week it will sell the book for 18 euros and 10 euros DVD.
Martinez explained that "the book has almost 60 pages in which images are narrated in the city's history from the first settlers to the present, with over 100 illustrations."
The mayor has stated that "the author has agreed to donate to the Bureau for Development of the City of Lorca 1 euro for each book sold, to which he added 200 euros of donations received from contributors who have made a contribution over 30 euros for the project. "
The council has stressed this new way of seeking funding to publish a work, so you can see the interest and demand for it, while any citizen can be a co-sponsor of the publication and in return receives a copy of the book, the DVD, thematic postcards, advertisement or, until even his face appears on a character of the illustrations.
Pedro Hurtado studied illustration at the Art School of Murcia and final year project was a book entitled "Illustrated History of Eagles."
Today there are 13 titles published in a series called "Series Illustrated History", with over 20,000 copies sold.
The last title has been on Granada and the Alhambra.
