The Minister of Education, Training and Employment, Sotoca Constantine, along with the mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar today put the first stone of Secondary School Giner Francisco Ros, one of the most affected by the earthquake of 2011, which had to be demolished due to damage.
The works, in which the Community will invest more than 3 million have been awarded to the company Acciona with a completion period of 11 months.
Sotoca said "this is one of the most important works of all that had to rush into the city and is entering the final stretch of the objective we set ourselves to completely recover Lorca educational heritage."
The new building will have three floors and with more classrooms and better facilities for their activities: computer rooms, plastic or drawing, support, integration and diversification, library and faculty offices and AMPA.
The Minister said "the effort and commitment of the regional government to support the municipality and recover all affected educational spaces, so that students and teachers can enjoy their facilities in a better environment and better conditions"
In this regard, he recalled that have been rehabilitated and recovered two dozen schools that were affected by the earthquake and those who have already invested about 10 million euros.
In addition to nine other reconstruction works are being undertaken at this time, amounting to a further 9 million euros, of which highlighted the IES Ramón Arcas, whose bid was approved by the Governing Council on 1 March.
