The presidential adviser, Manuel Campos, along with the mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, today inaugurated the new Comprehensive Safety Centre of the municipality, which extends the coordination and operation of security and emergency services, with the aim of ensuring immediate services to citizens.
The security complex has had a budget of 3,345,113 euros, of which three million have been funded by the Community.
Campos said that the concentration of security and emergency services all in one "guarantees a quick response and full interoperability of troops," which, he added, "increases the security of the citizens of the area and also lowers sustainability costs of the facility. "
The new infrastructure "is a significant improvement" over the previous Local Police headquarters, whose construction was "urgent priority" to respond to the police and also their stay in the old buildings was not feasible for the imminent construction of University Campus.
In addition, the Minister stressed the strategic location of the center and its spacious and modern facilities, all of which "allow better meet challenges and respond to the changing needs of citizens by modernizing and updating the emergency management to achieve greater efficiency in the provision of this public service, "said Campos.
The head of the Ministry of the Presidency said the security complex is part of the "comprehensive public safety plan" that the regional government wants to extend to the entire community, in response to "our strong commitment to the welfare and safety of the citizens of the Region. "
After the inauguration, the Minister Manuel Campos participated in the celebrations of the feast of St. Patrick, patron saint of the local police in Lorca, which also celebrates its 150th anniversary today.
Comprehensive security
Located on a municipal plot of 11,310 square meters in the city Ronda Sur, the Integral Security Center Lorca consists of three buildings with units for administrative activity, the body of the local police and emergency services, which will host more than 200 effective.
Its proximity to the city center and the main roads of the city and its special structure earthquake, are other key features of this center.
With an area of ​​1,190 square meters, the main building has three floors are organized operational and administrative services of the Department of Public Safety and Urban Mobility and public service offices.

These two buildings are connected with a common basement of 1,838 square meters, hosting a shooting gallery and a parking space for 62 vehicles.
The third building is for staff of the emergency services and Civil Protection.
The ground floor has offices, training room, hall and meeting volunteering, stores, toilets and garage, while the first floor is for male and female locker room and lounge.
Close to the city police service
One of the objectives of safety in Lorca was to bring the police presence to all citizens, especially in the area of ​​the districts and county due to the high growth of the city.
To fulfill this objective, the regional government promoted the construction of two Territorial Security Centers, one in the hamlet of Purias and another in that of Ramonete, in which the Presidential invested an amount of 400,000 euros.
Nearly seven million euros with the Public Safety Plan
The regional government has invested in the past seven years more than 6.7 million euros in the town of Lorca, through the Regional Public Safety Plan, to carry out the construction of new infrastructure dedicated to the security and emergency services , works of adequacy of existing units and provision of personnel and material.
With this plan, the town of Lorca incorporate 40 agents of the Public Safety Special Units of the Region of Murcia, of which 20 joined the police service in the first phase of the plan and 20, in the second stage.
