The Center for Integrated Agricultural Training and Experience (CIFE) of Lorca meets its centenary today, as it was the May 2, 1913 when the then General Agriculture Center and the local council signed the agreements for the transfer of property and to secure the endowment would allow the Centre to start business.
The Director General of Agro-Food Industry and Agricultural Training Lidón Angel Garcia, said that "with different names, this center has always responded to the compromise agreed to promote training activities in the agricultural sector. But it was not until 1970 when the training acquired special relevance to an annual program ".
So, the Farm Foreman regulated education gave way to the two levels of Agricultural Training, and these existing Vocational Training and Higher level, facilitating agricultural enterprises of the region's graduates access to productive activity center .
Currently, more than 40 titles offer integrated annual Continuing Education, along with four modular courses for Youth Mainstreaming Agricultural Sector, designed to meet the technical and legal requirements of those who make up the sector.
The Lorca CIFE also developing training activities for employment in demand specialties like swine, equine or intensive agriculture, among others, thus meeting the training needs of young people who seek to integrate in the agricultural sector.
The Center also complements these training activities with the development of multiple research projects and agricultural experimentation, focusing on technology transfer to facilitate the progress of regional agriculture.
