Moshe Shlomo Amar, who is excited to see the Jewish Lorca, has blessed the archaeological and encouraged all Jews in the world and the general public to know this testimony of Sephardic culture in Spain.
Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Israel, Shlomo Moshe Amar, this morning visited the Synagogue of Lorca with the president of the Catholic University of Murcia UCAM, Jose Luis Mendoza, the president of the Foundation Don Juan de Borbon Spain-Israel, Sadia Cohen, and the mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar.
Taking advantage of this visit the Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Israel has held the first Jewish religious act of worship held in the Synagogue of Lorca after the 520 years that have elapsed since the abandonment and encouraged all Jews of the world and the general to visit Lorca and the rich Sephardic heritage has been recovered in the town's castle after centuries buried without having been used by other faiths.
Moshe Shlomo Amar, who is excited to see the synagogue of Lorca, has blessed the archaeological site of the Jewish Lorca and congratulated the Mayor and technicians for the "excellent work, which has been an important material and scientific effort" and is committed to disseminate, while requesting the cooperation of everyone so that the whole world can enjoy this historical legacy.
Jodar stressed that "the visit of the spiritual father of all Sephardic Jews is a historical fact which demonstrates the importance of the Jewish presence and coexistence of three cultures in the Fortress of Lorca".
Meanwhile Mendoza said "the Synagogue Lorca is a holy place that is going to become a place of pilgrimage from all over the world."
Note that the act is part of the parallel activities that make up the Sephardic Cultural Week held by UCAM and the Foundation Juan de Borbon Spain, Israel, in collaboration with Bar-Ilan University, so that together with the Jewish authorities has come a group of 30 experts.
