The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, by the Councillor for Culture of the City of Lorca, Sandra Martinez, this morning visited the rehabilitation works of the Carmelite church, religious headquarters Paso Morado, and one of the temples which was seriously damaged by the earthquakes of 2011.
The works in question are funded by the Ministry of Culture, for a total amount of 600,000 euros.

Francisco Jodar explained that the action includes, in the part of the church, repairing cracks in their walls produced and vaults, the reinforcement of the arches of the transept, nave and side, and under the covers, all elements affected by earthquakes, and the stabilization of the main facade, which lost the vertical after the earthquake, being in a state with rollover threat.
In ancient cloister area comprises the work of clearing debris and stabilizing the walls of one of its pandas, already weakened by the earthquake, collapsed after heavy rains.
