The Governing Council, on a proposal from the Ministry of Health and Social Policy, has given the green light to an investment of 4,190,000 euros for the construction of the health center Lorca Centre, whose works have an initial period of 24 months.
The project, which is finalizing the Murcia Health Service, includes the construction of new infrastructure on the site occupied by the former health center and had to be demolished in its entirety after the earthquake of May 11, 2011, following of the damage to the building, which became irrecoverable.
The SMS has planned to develop the project according to the requirements of its area of ​​influence, which include, among others, the services of family medicine, pediatrics and women's care.
The new health center, whose construction is scheduled to be bid and begin this year, will cover a population of 25,491 Lorca.
