Youth Councillor City of Lorca, Augustine calls, recalled that during eight days, young people from five countries participated in the hamlet Lorca Coy at a workshop on gender violence.
Youth Councillor City of Lorca, Augustine Llamas, reported that the project "Comics against violence" received last May 31 the best project award in the category of "critical European Citizens" of the European Youth in Action European Union.
The granting of this award is part of the European Youth Week 2013.
The mayor said, "This project is an initiative that is part of the collaboration with the Association Consistory Lorca Intercultural Cazalla which lasted eight days with young people from five countries in the hamlet Lorca Coy".
The project included a workshop on gender violence in which participants learned to use the cartoon using the comic as a vehicle to educate the youth about the need to get involved to eliminate this social evil.
The result of this work was shown in exhibitions that were held during the seminar held in Coy, Lorca and also in all countries participating in the project (Serbia, Italy, France and Austria, France, Italy, Macedonia, Serbia and Sweden ).
In addition, comics and other materials have been used later to prepare workshops in schools
