This edition has recognized the accession to the Aalborg Charter, the constitution of the Local Agenda 21 and the Local Environment Council, the construction of bike lanes and greenways, the Comprehensive Sanitation Plan and actions within the Efficiency Plan Municipal Energy, as well as awareness campaigns and environmental education with schools in the municipality, the commemoration of World Water and Environment.

The councilors of Environment and Information Society of the City of Lorca, Melchor Morales and Francisco Jose Garcia, have collected this morning the two green flags with which he has been awarded this year's Consistory Lorca, corresponding to the modes of environmental commitment and environmental education and citizen participation in the XII edition of the Green Flag Award, Township Manager, prize awarded by the Federation of Independent Users and Consumers (FUCI).

In the form of environmental commitment has recognized the hard work of the municipal government to run performances Lorca as adherence to the Aalborg Charter and constitution of Local Agenda 21, the Constitution of the Council of Local Environment, building bike lanes and Greenways Comprehensive Sanitation Plan and actions included in the Municipal Energy Efficiency Plan.

Meanwhile, in the form of environmental education and citizen participation include actions such as conducting education campaigns and environmental awareness among school made the municipality, the Campaigns in commemoration of World Water Day and World Environment Day and placement of seminars related to biodiversity in the business world.

Already in 2010, the city of Lorca earned an Award for the categories of waste, cleaning and gardening.

This time the awards have been collected in the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality by Councilman Environment, Melchor Morales Cabrera, and Councilman Heritage, Francisco Garcia, who once was a councilor of sustainable development when initiated the implementation of Local Agenda 21.

Melchor Morales expressed his satisfaction at the recognition of the implementation of Agenda 21 and the Local Environment Council has been working constantly with important participation which extends the credit for this award.
