Councillor of Education of the City of Lorca, Francisco Montiel, reported this morning that the city council will start a significant number of different actions to improve our municipal schools which will involve an investment of EUR 355,171.84.
The mayor explained that Education is improvement actions and repair of damage caused by the earthquakes of 2011 in public schools Almendricos, La Parroquia, "Narciso Yepes" de Marchena, "Ginés Arcas Romera" Ramos Zarcilla, "Andres Aviles Manjarrez", "Virgen del Rosario" Coy, and "San Miguel" Totana Zarzadilla.
These projects are funded by the donation made by the Spanish Confederation of Savings Banks (CECA) to the City, with the exclusive use repair schools.
The works will be carried forward during the summer months in non-lecture period, not to interfere with the normal development of the students and teachers.
Francisco Montiel said that these actions have been approved this morning by the Local Government Board, with the detail of them as follows:
Multiple performances repairing Almendricos college consisting of the repair of cracks in partition walls, interior walls, facade, replacement of tiles and paint as well as structural repair and deck floor slab of the building that houses the school.
This work represents the investment of 60,480.99 euros.
Repair works at the college of La Parroquia, covering settlement cracks in partitions, painting, tile replacement, improvement and façade cladding.
Of note in particular performance in the center of the perimeter fence replacement thereof, severely damaged by earthquakes in 2011 and also severely affected by the floods last September.
Investment in the school amounts to 59705.45 euros.
Remedial measures at school, "Narciso Yepes" in the hamlet of Marchena.
The center will be conducting two projects:
Construction of a multipurpose room and psychomotor, funded by the Ministry of Education of the CARM, with a cost of 106,200 euros, encompassing an area of ​​144.3 m2 building.
Repairs for damage caused by the earthquakes of 2011, this being a similar performance to those already outlined in other centers, with the addition that you need to work on improving your suspended floor.
This work has an operating budget of 75,576.48 euros.
Works of repair and improvement of various kinds in schools Zarcilla, Coy, Zarzadilla of Totana and Avilés.
It is a joint project that will be used for the amount of EUR 53,208.92, including repairs to damage caused by earthquakes in 2011 similar to those that will be run in schools and cited (partition repair, flooring, painting ...), with the addition that is also going to act covers them.
The investment made in schools amounts to 15 million €.
Francisco Montiel has reported that the City has been invested in the last 14 months a total of 2.1 million euros for the repair of educational facilities.
From the CARM has been allocated so far 13 million euros, bringing the expected total to 21.7 million.
