This work is part of the restoration plan of 138 kilometers of regional roads affected by earthquakes, with a total investment of 47.5 million euros
The Minister of Public Works and Planning, Antonio Sevilla, accompanied by the mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar road this morning visited RM C-22, which is just starting the repair work to be invested in more than 300,000 Euro.
This action is part of the Plan of the Highways Agency which aims to restore the roads affected by the earthquakes that occurred in Lorca on May 11, 2011.
This Plan, which began last year and completed in 2016, contemplates a total of 138 kilometers and, overall, is a regional investment of 47.5 million euros.
Antonio Sevilla explained that "the works of the road between Fuensanta baths and Los Vélez consist firm scarification current contribution reconstruction with artificial gravel and executing a triple surface treatment".
In addition, repairs on the 13-kilometer route that has the regional cited also include the margins and gutter cleaning, and replacement of signage.
"It is a tertiary road whose traffic intensity is 250 vehicles a day, but has great interest as it gives access to Xiquena Castle and the Los Velez" said Sevilla.
According to estimates by the Ministry of Public Works and Planning, the repair of MR C-22 will be completed next November.
Besides the road today visited the counselor, in progress are also regional road D-12 (Lorca-The Alcanara).
They are also already awarded the work corresponding to the D-11 (Camino Viejo del Puerto), C-14 and Zarcilla RM-621 from Lorca to Puri.
Moreover, the roads D-16 (Puerto Lumbreras-Station), D-26 (RM-620 Station) RM-11 (Lorca-Eagles) and C-9 (Lorca-Totana Zarzadilla) are in phase bidding.
Finally, the Ministry of Public Works and Planning has completed the repair of roads D-10 (Lorca-The Beacon), RM-701 (Lorca-The Parish), D-7 (Lorca-The Alporchones) and, D-9 (Campico Lopez-RM 332).
