The Town Planning Council of Lorca, José Joaquín Peñarrubia, expressed his satisfaction at the beginning of the reconstruction of the building of 20 houses, which stood at the corner of Avenue Europe Luis de Peralta Street and whose shop space was a pharmacy.
Peñarrubia said "with this investment are already 750 homes that are in the process of rebuilding after its demolition by the damage that caused the earthquakes of May 11, 2011 in the buildings in which they were located."
In this sense José Joaquín Peñarrubia stressed that "as is customary in the process of rebuilding this building on four floors and will also include improvements over the original building, as is the installation of an elevator, which will make the day more comfortable to-day their neighbors. therefore congratulate neighbors, which thus contribute to a better city. "
José Joaquín Peñarrubia also explained that this work "was licensed reconstruction from a few months ago, it was granted within five working days after the technicians hired by the neighbors submit all necessary documentation to ensure proper performance. The work also has the authorization to install the corresponding crane ".
The mayor stressed that "precisely this new building will rise in an environment that is expected to be remodeled by the Autonomous Community, within urban regeneration processes, which will improve the quality of life of its inhabitants."
The council also stated that "we are at a point where all the buildings that were demolished more than 20 homes are licensed for reconstruction, so that the recovery process does not stop and Lorca have already handed over the keys of 65 houses, between floors in apartment buildings and collective housing houses rebuilt, with completion planned for other soon ".
The reconstruction of these houses is being made possible thanks to support paid by 50% by the Regional Government and 50% Government of Spain, as well as the compensation of the Insurance Compensation Consortium neighbors.
