The Governing Council has authorized the hiring of urban renovation Vine neighborhood and around the City of Lorca, in the amount of 5.8 million euros, whose execution time shall be twelve months.
The performances will include the renovation of urban infrastructure, the release of public space and the pedestrian road in order to promote accessibility, allow connectivity between neighborhoods, as well as carry out actions on energy efficiency and sustainability.
Rehabilitation work will also include cultural and leisure equipment and favor actions social activity dynamization in the neighborhood.
With this, the Ministry of Public Works and Planning facilitates economic development, trade and mobility, and create infrastructure to ensure full accessibility and retrieval of the overall image of the city.
It also seeks to achieve maximum integration between city and nature by integrating the urban landscape with the introduction and upgrading of infrastructure to contribute to energy savings.
The project also aims to strengthen the unity and image of the neighborhood of La Viña.
Urban renewal of the Vineyard is framed in the agreement with the City of Lorca to facilitate the realization of a wide range of urban renewal activities in the City of the Sun, among which are the districts of San Fernando, San Diego, Alfonso X, San Jose, San Pedro and other areas of the barrios Altos, as well as the works of Lorca Castle accessibility.
The total investment of the Community for this set of urban renewal activities reached the amount of 52.6 million euros for 2013-2014, under the loan agreement signed between the regional government and the European Investment Bank (EIB).
