The Grundtvig sectoral program aims to improve the quality and European dimension of adult education in the broadest sense, including non-formal education which is usually out of this recognition of his studies and, most innovative, informal education can encompass all learning outside formal education, including self-learning.
This program aims to respond to the educational challenge of an aging population in Europe and help provide adults with pathways to improving their knowledge and skills.
The operational objectives are working to improve the quality and accessibility of mobility throughout Europe of people involved in adult education and increase its volume so that by 2013 will support the mobility of at least 7000 of these people.
In addition, it seeks to improve the quality and volume of cooperation between organizations involved in adult education throughout Europe; assist people from vulnerable social or marginal social contexts, in particular older people and those who have left education without basic qualifications, in order to give them alternative opportunities to access adult education as well as improve pedagogical approaches and the management of organizations of adult education, while facilitating the development of innovative practices in the adult education and their transfer, including from one participating country.
This European program also supports the development of content, services, pedagogies and practice for lifelong learning and innovative ICT based.
