The mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar wished that "next year no such concentrations necessary because it has managed to eliminate this scourge of society, but we fear that we still have far to go, and that education and awareness is everyone's job, so from the local administration will continue to work for it. Jódar recalled that "the city of Lorca has a Centre for the Care of Victims of Violence under the Department of Women to help victims get out of that situation."
The mayor also called for the participation of citizens in the act of homage to the victims that this year will be held at the Teatro Guerra from 20:00 pm today.
Jodar, who has been in the concentration accompanied by members of the Local Government and the councilors of the municipal opposition groups, after taking a break in Parliament that was underway at the time, recalled that the City Council and the Federation Women Organizations has called this act include the reading of a manifesto and the names of the dead by violence.
A tribute to Doña María Vera Legs, honorary president of the Federation of Women's Organizations of Lorca, who died recently, during the awards ceremony of the First Competition of tweets against gender violence is performed.
