The contract includes special status as the promotion of youth employment
The Minister of Public Works and Planning, Antonio Sevilla, today announced that the renovation Lorca San Diego neighborhood are already in the bidding phase, after the publication of the draft in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) on Nov. 21.
The deadline for companies to submit bids for reconstruction of this section, the Department intended that an investment of 8.1 million euros, is open until January 9.
The works consist of the renovation of roads, expansion of public and educational spaces, green areas and urban infrastructure services other municipal public domain.
It is estimated that these actions will generate around 100 new jobs.
It also held the pedestrianization of roads in order to promote accessibility and enable the connection between neighborhoods, as well as other actions for energy efficiency and sustainability.
The Minister stressed that the contract includes, as a special condition of a social nature for the promotion of employment, the requirement that the contractor incorporates at least 25 percent of workers under 30 years, a percentage of insertion according Sevilla , "shall be calculated in relation to the total number of workers needed for the execution of the works."
With this, the Ministry aims to facilitate the economic, commercial development and mobility, create infrastructure to ensure full accessibility and regain the overall image of the city.
This urban renewal contract, the award is processed by open procedure, is part of the agreement signed between the regional government and the city of Lorca to facilitate the realization of a wide range of activities of urban renewal in Sun City
Besides the works already authorized in the neighborhoods of La Viña, Alfonso X, San Jose and San Diego latter also performances in San Fernando, San Pedro and other areas of the districts as well as accessibility works referred to Lorca Castle.
Antonio Sevilla recalled that the total investment of the Community for this set of actions amounted to 52.6 million euros for the period 2013-2014 under the loan signed with the European Investment Bank (EIB).
