The Minister of Public Works and Planning, Antonio Sevilla, today announced that his department has already signed with the contractor contracting works for the district of Alfonso X of Lorca, a process that he said Sevilla "gives a new boost the actions of urban renewal in the city. "
The cost of the work amounted to 4.5 million euros, and their duration shall be thirteen months.
The delimitation of the scope in the neighborhood of Alfonso X covers an area of ​​about 65,000 square meters.
As explained by Antonio Sevilla, "is scheduled to release public space and pedestrianization of roads, in order to promote accessibility and enable the connection between neighborhoods, as well as other actions for energy efficiency and sustainability."
Rehabilitation work will also include facilities for culture and leisure, as well as the implementation of areas for adults and for children.
Works also encourage dynamization actions of social activity centered on two main axes: one sport and another commercial.

The objective of the Ministry is to facilitate trade and economic development and mobility, and create infrastructure to ensure full accessibility and regain the overall image of the city.

This percentage is calculated insertion relative to the total number of workers needed for the implementation of the actions.
Said work falls under the agreement signed between the regional government and the city of Lorca to facilitate the realization of a wide range of activities for urban renewal in the city of the Sun
In addition to those already authorized in the neighborhoods of La Viña, Alfonso X and San Jose also works contemplated in San Fernando, San Diego, San Pedro and other areas of the Highlands neighborhoods, as well as accessibility to the Castle of Lorca.
The total investment of the Community for this set of urban renewal activities totaled 52.6 million euros for the period 2013-2014 under the loan signed with the European Investment Bank (EIB).
