The Councillor for Social Services City of Lorca, María del Carmen Ruiz, reported that the city council will renew the provision of all care home support services and complementary (respite care, telecare, meals on wheels and home aid holidays) from the city council that is made available to Lorca in need.
Ruiz Jódar stressed that the City Council are despite the adjustments that have to be taken forward, aware and sensitive to the existing demands respect.

We are talking, in concrete terms, a number of services that benefit each month together a total of 377 families Lorca, and the amount of 513,000 euros is intended by the Consistory.
The mayor of Social Services explained that the service is a home care service for which the beneficiaries receive assistance at home on a personal level (toilet, company, position changes ...) and home (preparing meals and housework) .
Users of this service may be elderly, single parents and people with disabilities., Provided they meet the predefined scales.
This service users benefit 167 each month, which corresponds to 40,000 hours annually.
The respite service, meanwhile, is intended for the caregiver family to have temporary spaces of rest, being substituted by a professional care provided by the City.
This service made during 2013 a total of 5084 hours of delivery, with 25 monthly beneficiary families served.
The Meals on Wheels service, which is another of the services offered by the city, is the provision of cooked and processed foods that are dispensed in the home of the beneficiary for 365 days a year, through a service charge to a company Catering.
This catering to the elderly who live alone and can not do for themselves, either not knowing or cooking for diets require special features (hypertension, diabetes ...) is offered.
This provision benefits a monthly average of 19 users, paying an average of 615 meals served each month.
The telecare service provides coverage in case of accident or any other type of external user need, putting the user in communication with the services required by a warning device.
It is aimed at older people living alone and having mobility difficulties.
In this action a total of 148 monthly users benefit on average.
