The Minister of Public Works and Planning, Antonio Sevilla, accompanied by the Director of Roads, José Guijarro, and the mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, today visited the variant of the RM-C14 road, whose works have just concluded.
This road connects the RM-11 (road Caravaca de la Cruz) of the hamlet Lorca Zarcilla.
According Sevilla, this action "is complementary to the repair of the main road, the RM-C14, because the variant is of vital importance to the village, because it gives access to the town of Lorca and prevents the population passes through a large volume of HGV traffic from the marble is in the vicinity of the Sierra del Almirez ".
The work, which has implemented the Community has been the strengthening of the pavement with hot asphalt, a performance that has been done within a month and involves an investment of 124,000 euros.
Plan of roads in Lorca
The road works RM-C14 are part of the Plan of the Ministry of Public Works and Planning to restore the roads affected by the earthquakes that occurred in Lorca on 11 May 2011.
In addition to the reconstruction of pavements, in some cases the works include the construction of new roads, bridges, squares and sidewalks, and drainage works factory.
This Plan, which began in 2012 and completed in 2016, includes shares in a total of 138 kilometers and, overall, a regional investment of 47.5 million euros.
