This Local Board for Equality aims to become a forum for discussion, brainstorming, knowledge and initiatives by women's associations and other organizations aimed at the promotion and advancement of women.
The Councillor for Women's Hall of Lorca, Lali Ibarra, has chaired this morning's meeting of the Local Committee for Equality.
Ibarra Lopez noted that the Department of Women participate actively and positively in promoting policies and actions that contribute to eradicate inequality and discrimination on grounds of sex in the local area as well as the promotion and the elimination of obstacles prevent the full participation of women in any of the areas of local life.
The mayor of the woman has indicated that for this purpose the establishment of a Local Committee for Equality responds to the need to create a space for participation, dialogue and dialogue among women and the public authorities as affirmative action is intended to consolidate Democratic system and equality between women and men, facilitating active citizenship and influence on political decision-making and local government action.

Ibarra Lopez said that this Committee also aims to promote the implementation of equality policies and measures to remove obstacles to real equality of citizens of Lorca and ensure recruitment prospects gender and equal opportunities in the development of local policies.
The issues on the table Equality includes the presentation of the new entity to the members thereof, as well as explanations of municipal services and actions in this regard, the Local Coordination Committee Against Gender Violence Program Gender Violence Prevention for Young Girls, Presentation of Draft Local Development holding the Department of Employment, Training and Employment of Women in the Municipality of Lorca, and Proposed lines of action to advance the work of the Department of Women.
