The Ministry of Public Works and Planning subsidize the activities of urban recovery of a total of 67 streets and public spaces in the Barrios Altos de Lorca.
Councilor Antonio Sevilla, accompanied by the mayor, Francisco Jodar, today presented the program of urban regeneration actions of Calvary and St. Lazarus, San Pedro, Santa Maria and San Juan neighborhoods.
Sevilla explained that the subsidy granted by the regional authority for these actions is divided into three installments, from 2013 to 2015, amounting to just over 10.4 million.
The intervention will consist of urban infrastructure renewal, release of public space and the pedestrianization of roads, in order to promote accessibility and enable the connection between neighborhoods, as well as other actions for energy efficiency and sustainability.
"This is the enhancement of one of the oldest in the city urban areas," said the director, adding that "we intend to promote the recovery of the social fabric, as in many cases reside there most disadvantaged households, and also efforts are aimed at their integration in the historical district. "
In addition to urban regeneration, Sevilla announced the start of the tender dossier vial evacuation of these neighborhoods.
