The Cabinet has given its approval to the project procurement and implementation of the relevant urban renewal district Lorca San Diego, which was affected by the earthquakes of May 2011 works.
The works, which amounts to 4,884,063 euros, will include the renovation of roads, expansion of public and educational spaces, green areas and urban infrastructure services in the neighborhood of San Diego city that are public domain.
It also held the pedestrianization of roads in order to promote accessibility and enable the connection between neighborhoods, as well as other actions for energy efficiency and sustainability.
The contract includes, as a special condition of a social nature for the promotion of employment, the requirement that the contractor incorporates, at a minimum, 25 percent of workers under 30 years.
This percentage is calculated insertion relative to the total number of workers needed for the completion of works.
With this, the Ministry of Public Works and Planning aims to facilitate the economic, commercial development and mobility, create infrastructure to ensure full accessibility and regain the overall image of the city.
This action is part of the agreement signed between the regional government and the city of Lorca to facilitate the realization of a wide range of activities of urban renewal in Sun City
Besides the works already authorized in the neighborhoods of La Viña, Alfonso X, San Jose and San Diego, also performances in San Fernando, San Pedro and other areas of the Highlands neighborhoods, as well as accessibility works referred to Lorca Castle .
The total investment of the Community for this set of actions amounted to 52.6 million euros for the period 2013-2014 under the loan signed with the European Investment Bank (EIB).
More than 6.9 million to improve the treatment process of municipal solid waste Lorca
The regional government has approved the project of completion of works for the improvement of operations classification and biological treatment plant in municipal solid waste Lorca, with a budget of 6,948,112 euros.
The work, which will run the public company Tragsa, consist installation of equipment, modification of existing treatment systems and to adapt them to the changing needs of process facilities.
To improve the operations of classification and biological treatment plant civil works, machinery, electrical, industrial automation and installation of fire protection will be made.
The project, whose execution time is 15 months, is funded 80 percent by the Cohesion Fund of the European Union and 20 percent equity of the Community.
More than 5.6 million for work on the new IES Francisco Giner de Lorca Ros
The regional government has authorized the hiring of construction of the new Secondary School Ros Francisco Giner de Lorca, severely damaged by the earthquake of May 2011, amounting to 5,670,085 euros.
Specifically, the specification for the new tender for the works, including improvements to the foundation of the building, in order to ensure complete safety of the facilities is approved.
The works have a lead time of 16 months and the contract will be carried out by open procedure, and will be awarded to the most economically advantageous and guaranteed execution time proposition.
Also, application processing will be carried out by the emergency procedure in order to expedite the maximum limits.
