The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, and the President of El Pozo Food, Thomas Strong, signed a grant agreement to contribute to the recovery of historical heritage damaged by earthquakes in 2011, a ceremony attended by the Director Education, Culture and Universities of the CARM, Pedro Antonio Sánchez.
The President of El Pozo Food, Thomas Strong, noted that this agreement results in the contribution of an amount of 300,000 Euros from El Pozo to be allocated to assist in the rehabilitation and recovery of different monuments were seriously damaged by Lorca earthquake that struck in May 2011. The main objectives of this agreement are specified in the recovery of assets amassed by the Municipal Archaeological Museum, as well as defining new strategies, methods and tools for preventing damage in case of new earthquakes, and musealization other monuments such as the synagogue located on the side of the castle.
