Chess sum over a hundred participants in the two races held this weekend (27/09/2014)

Chess is one of the most traditional activities within the program Guadalentin Sports Games.

Every year since Lorca Chess Club we provide two tests aimed both at promoting popular participation and to bring together the most promising regional chess.

A total of 105 people joined this weekend as chess.

So, on Friday afternoon the Constitution Mall hosted the traditional simultaneous departure that allowed any amateur face all International Grandmaster as Alfredo Giaccio.

Youth Chess Club, fans, curious, experts, up to 29 people had the opportunity to compete against this renowned chess player.

But the highlight of the program was reserved for Saturday morning with Rapid Chess Tournament held like last year at the Beacon Park Mall, collaborators of the test.

This test was developed by the Swiss system to 6 rounds.

Involved a total of 79 players from all chess clubs in the Region of Murcia, highlighting the presence of Grandmaster James Plaskett, winner in the overall standings with 6 wins in six games.

We must also highlight the participation of 17 players on category "backpack", aimed at the under 8, with the great local quarry chess is confirmed.

The test took place from 9 to 13 hours when conducted the presentation of medals to the winners and prizes for the Local Loop Chess-2013 also held a tribute from the Chess Club Porlán to Beatriz Garcia, Lorca player who champion Spain U16 proclaimed in held last July in Salobreña National Championship.
