The Ministry of Development, Public Works and Planning, through the Directorate General of Highways, 2,245,000 euros allocated to improve and ensure accessibility to Lorca Castle and Parador, both normal and emergency conditions, and foster communication with the city through the road which runs from the south of the castle to the gully of San Lazaro.
The work, which has started the recruitment process and has been sent to tender technical assistance for drafting the project unfolds over three kilometers, two kilometers run in the ring and one kilometer massif in vial.
In view of the nature of the terrain, which is variable and unstable, the consolidation of the rock mass affected by earthquakes by building fasteners and foundation is required.
In addition to these activities, will take place paving and pavement strengthening of the road that borders the castle and down the same road.
These works are intended to improve connectivity and accessibility to the upper part of the city.
This new road will serve to enhance the tourism dimension achieved in recent years by Lorca, more specifically the enhancement of the Castle and Parador environment.
The project is planned for three installments and the start of construction is scheduled for 2015.
