The City Council launches a new educational project for the integration of mothers aged 16 to 20 years with problems of social exclusion (12/12/2014)

This is the "Rebirth" program, which will be developed in conjunction with the Society of the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul at the premises of San José de Calasanz.

The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, this morning signed a collaboration agreement with the Company of the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul whose purpose is to launch the "Rebirth" Project, a useful tool for social integration in our town.

The signing of the document took place at the nursery San José de Calasanz, along with Sister Concepción Vicente, Visiting Provincial of St. Louise de Marillac Social Work.

The event was also attended by the councilors of Health and Social Services City of our city, Antonia Lopez and Maria del Carmen Ruiz.

The Mayor explained that the educational project "Rebirth" is intended for the social integration of young women who are mothers.

Through this comprehensive care for women between 16 and 20 years who are at a disadvantage, exclusion, social conflict risk or be given, and also to those who are pregnant.

The user will receive training in values, academic upgrading and apprenticeship in order to change their own reality.

We are talking about new opportunities and effective alternatives to help young mothers precisely when they need it most.

From City of Lorca bet for life and for the future, creating a new positive social framework for these young mothers.

The mayor has said that "we want women who are in a social risk broaden their training, improve their employability and get moving from isolation to full social integration. From City of Lorca we are convinced that it is a much needed project worth, so we want to collaborate with faith to make it happen. Specifically, the Consistory will finance the project with 9,000 euros to be developed between the month of December and 31 December 2015 ".

The beneficiaries of this project will participate in activities such as hairdressing, aesthetics, social skills, crafts, food handling, tailoring, cultural outings, school support, yoga, computer and group meeting.

Note that thanks to this funding, from St. Louise de Marillac Social Work may create a meeting place where young people feel welcomed and listened to advance or return to education, with emphasis on the health and emotional-sexual education and enabling the transition to adulthood.
