Youth Councillor of the City of Lorca, Augustine Llamas, and the project manager of Cazalla Intercultural, Tea Stanic, reported today that the municipality of Lorca is hosting from December 8 until tomorrow an international conference on youth volunteering 17 organizations from 16 countries.
Llamas explained that the delegates of these participants from Europe, Africa, Asia and South America, NGOs will have during the day in a booth at the Ramón Arcas Institute to present their work and their countries, "an activity open to inform all citizens ".
The mayor explained that during the first few days of this meeting, which is the beginning of the project 'Global Place' (Global Partnership for Learning, Acting, Creating and Educating), prepared by the Cazalla Intercultural Association "have been in the Municipal hostel Calnegre tips, strengthening partnerships between network entities in the field of exchange of volunteers and youth workers. This project will last 18 months and aims to promote international volunteering in the framework of the European Year of Volunteering 2015 and try to answer the International Sustainable Development Goals of the post-2015 agenda of the United Nations in the area Global Education.
Intercultural Cazalla is a nonprofit organization that brings involving young people between 16 and 30 years in social projects since 1994 and is based in an area of ​​the Department of Youth in the Campus Universitario de Lorca, with information about program of the European Union, as European Voluntary Service (EVS), Leonardo, Youth Exchanges, seminars and training courses on specific social issues such as: racism, violence, respect for human rights, learning and intercultural dialogue through non-formal education methodology.
