The Minister of Development, Public Works and Planning, Francisco Barnabas visited the refurbishment and improvement of the RM-504, which connects the districts of La Paca Lorca and Doña Inés with a budget of 315,000 euros.
Barnabas said his department, through the Directorate General of Highways, has conditioned this stretch of road, bringing a significant increase in road safety and driving comfort through this pathway. "
He also stressed the importance of this action that "has solved the demand of the residents and users, due to poor pavement width of the platform that made it difficult for one car, especially for frequent traffic agricultural vehicles".
Thus, we have carried out refurbishment work on this road third level, with an average traffic intensity of 422 vehicles per day, representing an extension of the platform.
In this performance will be followed by another second phase of work, from kilometer 20,995, located in Doña Inés, until connecting with what has been done in this first phase, so that the entire stretch of road between the village and Lorca-Caravaca road platform will have a total width of 6.60 meters and a firm hot asphalt.
The work is complemented by the replacement of all horizontal and vertical signage and improvement of drainage ditches with concrete lining in some sections.
In total, the two phases will involve an intervention on six kilometers of this road, at a total cost of 879,000 euros.
