The deputy and rapporteur of the Popular Group in the Committee on Education and Culture, Maria Teresa Marín, highlighted the important work being done by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities in the rehabilitation and restoration of the regional heritage, especially the city Lorca "whose monuments were seriously damaged in the earthquakes of 2011 and for which the Community has pledged 24 million euros, 9 million for this year."
In his opinion, the Department has worked "a lot of good" to restore the monuments affected by the earthquakes and the proof is committed in the Master Plan for the Recovery of Cultural Heritage of the city investment, "which meant that they are already recovered or advanced process of restoring buildings of great historical-artistic "significance.
Marin stressed that not only intervenes in equity but "also carried out the research needed to assess and diagnose what needs to recover" and in this sense, has referred to the plan of windmills or movable property inventory holding Restoration Center.
In his view, "for a decade have made major cultural infrastructure in the region as museums, the Regional Archives, the Regional Library, which are referred out of Murcia for its fully modernized facilities and programs that perform".
"The region is a pioneer in the Comicteca and the Mediatheque," he assured, while also highlighted other actions as "digital imaging and recovery of collective historical memory through successful CRIMSON project and all exhibition and educational programs which are held in museums. "
Finally, he explained that the commitment to the preservation, promotion and research of heritage is being carried out "without forgetting concepts such as citizen participation and cultural democratization, as this is a major factor in economic development, closely linked to cultural tourism ".
