Sanchez Jódar shows that the Ministry of Health discriminates more than 17400 Lorca by denying them access to this preventive program, unlike what happens in other areas of health such as IX, which itself is fully implemented
The Deputy Speaker of the Municipal Maria Soledad Sanchez Jódar Socialist Group today denounced "arbitrariness" of the Regional Government of the People's Party when implementing the program for the prevention of colon cancer among the population;
"Arbitrariness that discriminates against citizens of Lorca and threatening a large majority of the population lorquina not be covered by this plan prevention, unlike what happens in other areas of the Region of Murcia".
Jódar Sanchez remembers the announcement of the Regional Government in 2011 whereby "undertook to implement a preventive program with colon cancer to stick to all the inhabitants of the region between 50 and 69 years. However, the reality is that despite what was promised in 2011 and later in 2013, today this program only takes place in Lorca population aged between 66 and 69 years, making a total of 17407 citizens of Lorca from 50 and 65 are not eligible for this program that ensure prevention of this cancer, as it does elsewhere in the region, such as the area of health IX Vega Alta del Segura, where the program if it is complete. "
"Only in Lorca, in 8056 and 8351 Lorca Lorca between 50 and 65 years, of all citizens in different municipalities of the Area III of Health, are being denied this prevention program, while in areas such as Vega Alta this program if it is implemented in this age cohort, "says the socialist mayor.
Therefore, from the Municipal Socialist Group ask "what criteria are following the Health Department when implementing this program in the Region of Murcia, in some places and not in others not."
"It is intolerable that access to our health, public and universal call, depends on the municipality in which you live, even in cases involving the same region."
Finally, the socialist mayor requires the Regional Government and Mayor of Lorca's that "by the way, we doubt are aware of this issue, that if all citizens of the Region of Murcia pay the same taxes, everyone should have the same health benefits. It is intolerable arbitrariness with which the Regional Government is implementing this plan of preventing colon cancer, serving some people and not others. The citizens of Lorca are not second class citizens, and deserve no less than those of Vega Alta " .
