Juan Manuel Cabrera, candidate of Union Progreso y Democracia mayor of Lorca, proposes the development of a comprehensive emergency plan "in which the specialists themselves are the protagonists in the organization and coverage at risk for the population."
Thus, "and with the participation of regional and national government," members of police, firefighters, health workers and volunteers would be better coordinated and more effectively to natural disasters or public safety.
For Cabrera, the last restructuring carried out and hiring personnel "do not respond to improved services" because instead of investing in professional bodies "is performed maintaining a parallel emergency services and security."
"We must maintain a volunteer service that will support the professional actions of the security forces and health templates, firefighters, always under the command of the professionals responsible for attending these services."
It also supports Lorca UPyD claims and complaints made throughout this legislature by various professional bodies of emergencies relating to lack of staffing to perform its functions and the duality of services, compared to support for voluntary services of the town by the local administration.
According to Cabrera, "this reorganization of services must be accompanied by a plan to strengthen the security situation in the districts of Lorca with increased staffing to cover all municipal territory."
"It seems wasteful underuse of safety centers in the districts, which are closed most of the day," so that "we propose to use as reference sites for the population in case of need," concluded the candidate UPyD.
